Wow, I never knew....

Today I had an eye appointment. To give you a little insight on myself, I hate doctor appointments of any kind(except the dentist, Dad, I could never hate going to see you!!). I get really nervous and then sweat really bad. "This is ridiculous," I said to myself as walked into the office. I patiently endured the lovely pressure test, you know the one, where they blow a puff of air into your eye. This alone is tortuous enough, but then the Dr. comes in and tells you to start naming the letters on the lowest line. I could barely read the very, very large letter E at the top. I just started rattling off random letters. The doctor knew I couldn't see and stopped me before I even finished the line. Then he did the classic, "Which is better, number one or number two." I told him and before I knew it the appointment was done. Upon which the Doctor stated,
"Congratulations, your eyes are better then there were at your last visit.
me:"What!?!"
Doc:"Yes, your RX will be less than it was before."
me: "Wow, I am amazed!"
You see, I am blind as a bat. I have never been to an eye apt. where I have not heard, "Well, you need a stronger RX this time Mrs." I was beginning to think one day I might really be blind. So, to all of those of you with glasses and contacts don't rush out to get lasik, because you never know, your eyes just might get stronger like mine!

Congratulations!! The best is when you have to have your eyes dilated and you get to wear those cool shades. That makes the whole trip to the eye doctor worth it:)

That's good news indeed.... but your eyes do look quite different than they did a few weeks ago. (based on the picture at the top of that blog.)

I love when the doc tells me my eyes are good. All my family has done lassik. Not me I can't picture me without glasses.

I don't think I could ever do lasik. I mean, at least I can see with my glasses or contacts...what if something happened during the lasik procedure?
Congrats on improving your eyesight! Any tips?

You must be eating your carrots. Good girl. I wish my prescription would get better. I'll be wearing coke bottle glasses before we know it. It gets worse with every baby. Hopefully this Dr. has it right and the prescription will be strong enough. Can't wait to see you in a week!
