Our July 4th Weekend

We had a great Independence day and weekend. We left on Thursday and headed over to the lake. There we met up with Wes' parents, his brother, and the girls (Amber we missed you tons). We spent most of the time outside or in the water. We swam, ate delicious food, had even better company, swam, slammed it up with the new volleyball (great, great purchase may I add), cat fished, swam, dug in the sand, watched an awesome fireworks show, let off our own fireworks, and had the first freedom swim ever (it was a huge success Vern, good work!!). However, like always, I forgot to take pictures. Here is the one lone picture I did take of gramma and kiddos.

We are so grateful for such a wonderful country to live in. We are even more grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed so much for us to enjoy the freedom we do. How was your 4th??

Ours was wonderful. What inspired the following post about being able to go back to the lake, I wonder? I guess I haven't heard that story yet. Your fourth sounds like a heck of a lot more fun than ours. A bunch of people in another ward who we sortof know all gather at this one spot to watch the fireworks put on by the casino here and so we ate tons of junk food and watched fireworks. Saturday we hit up the beach. That was too fun. You guys need to come here!!!

The story is - Kate (after returning from beautiful Colorado) "ragged" big time on Texas, and we Texan's don't take that lightly, ya know. So, she may not get invited back to the lake (Vern says) for a time or two to teach her a good lesson. The poem was great Kate, and you can just pray it does the trick.
Love, Sheriee

I'm sorry I missed a great weekend at the lake. It's been way too long since I've seen you all. Cute picture of Sheriee with the kids.

Next time you are un-invited to the lake you can just come on over to Colorado. (Take that Vern & Sheriee!) jk of course! We appreciate you guys taking such good care of our little Colorado girl.
