Mr. Claus
So I just noticed that everyone else had pictures of their kids with Santa so of course I had to conform. We just went to the mall, as our ward didn't ask Santa to come and visit. Wes and I couldn't believe the outrageous cost of purchasing photos with Santa. Not one of the packages were less than 20 bucks, yeah right!! So we stood in line and like cheap-o's pulled out our digital camera and said, "We'll be the photographers, thanks." Ben is going through some strange life crisis where he won't get within 2 feet of strangers, so getting onto Santa's lap was a waste of time. We've been also having a hard time getting Logan excited about Christmas. HE understands it, but I think he is still just too young. I think he's more excited to see Chipmunks with his cousin than for Santa to leave his goodies. Oh-well. One more thing, I don't know what it is about Christmas that leaves people in extra cranky and foul moods, but while we were standing in line waiting to see Santa, the family in front and behind us were being awful to their kids. All of the sudden I noticed the family in front of us were gone and when I mentioned it to Wes he said, "Yeah, the mom said to her little girl, 'Well, that was a bad choice, now we're leaving. Sorry no seeing Santa this year.'" Then the people behind us kept yelling and screaming at their kids to get up off the ground and quit pulling on their vests and dresses. Ben was starring because they were making such a scene and the grandmother said to her little granddaughter, "Yeah, he probably thinks you're an idiot!" I couldn't believe it. Tis the season people, please!!
A Christmas Miracle
It finally happened. It is truly a Christmas miracle. I had my hair cut and I didn't even cry when it was through. This miracle didn't take place at any salon, nor was it the spa, or even a parlor. I think I would call it the grimiest, most disgusting, pong(it's a word look it up, means stinky) place I have ever had a cut before. My stylist had a strange odor, and the owner even had a beard(she was a woman). But they did it. So I will shout it from the roof tops. If you need your hair cut go to Top Cuts located right off hwy 78. Trust me you won't be let down.
Maybe Not
So this morning I was "watching cartoons" in my pj's with Logan and Ben on the floor. Ben came over to me and pulled my t-shirt up a bit and started to poke my belly. Then Logan saw and thought it looked like fun to play with my roll of loose skin(ie soggy bread as Wes calls it). He then said to me, "Mom, why do you have all those stripes on your tummy?" Needless to say, he's not my favorite anymore.

I love my 3yr old!!
Family Pictures...
So I had this great goal to get Christmas cards out to friends and family this year. On Saturday I gussied up the boys, ironed their collared shirts and sweaters, curled my hair, painted my finger nails, and forced Wes to wear a sweater(trust me this is no easy feat!!). We don't have a tripod so we set up a bowl on top of the couch to take our pictures. Then snap, snap, snap, snap, snap, seriously 500 pictures later these were the best we got. Finally Wes threw his sweater on the bed, Ben and I were crying and Logan was jumping up and down saying, "Let me take a picture now, it's my turn!!" So much for that bright idea.

Reverence is more than just quietly sleeping...
Over the last few months we have been trying with all dilligence to get Logan to learn and understand the meaning of reverence during sacrament meeting. We have tried quiet entertainment(dry erase boards, I spy bag, etc.), books, and bribery(which we did today with leftover Halloween candy). Last week and this week I must admit he has done very well, I am quite proud. However, during the last talk he was getting a bit restless. He turned around in the pew and began looking at the people in the row behind us. Then he said to me rather loud and overconfidently, "Mom, someone is sleeping in church." Not a half a second later he then said, "Oh, nevermind he's awake now!" My quess is that the gentleman heard that little comment and decided rather than continue his slumber he better wake up and show the little man he was paying attention to the speaker. It was all I could do to keep from laughing and further embarassing the man behind us.

Happy Howl-o-ween!!!
We had a great day yesterday. Before we headed out we wanted to get some cute pictures of the boys. The only way we could get Ben to cooperate was to bribe him. The picture taking was much easier after he got his lolipop. We loaded up our "Dallas Cowboys" and headed out around 6:30. It was still very light as we trick-or-treated. We went up and down one street and then made our way to the church's trunk-or-treat. Logan had a blast running around the parking lot filling up his candy bag. On our way home Wes grabbed a pizza and we went home threw the kids into the tub, tucked them into bed, and watched a scarey movie while we stuffed our faces with pizza and candy. It was fun!

6 Things about Me
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
I was tagged by Hayley Grace Staub Burk.
6 Facts about me:
1. I am basically terrified of all animals. It doesn't matter what shape or size, if it's an animal I'm scared! I think it all started when I was in high school and was chased by a crazy squirrel up the entire street. Or it could have been that other time when I was babysitting for this family whose house was infested with mice. I bawled my eyes out while sitting on the counter with a spoon for protection. Traumatic, I know!
2. I'm pretty much a clean freak and a germaphobe. My newest compulsion is washing the hand towels every few days. They must be crawling with bugs, just thinking about it makes me sick. I would win the cake for "person who takes the longest to do the dishes ever." I have a little routine that includes spot cleaning, wiping, disinfecting, and drying just to make it simple. I hate wrinkled sheets and I love vacuum marks. Yeah, it's out of control.
3. I am ultra competitive. In fact I had to quit playing church volleyball because it was too painful to play with some of the women in our ward(aren't I just awful?). Whenever I go to the gym I "race" the person next to me, no matter the piece of equipment. I am just sure I can go longer and faster than they can.
4. I am very girly. I love being a girl. I love getting and giving myself pedicures and manicures. I look forward to spritzing perfume even if I'm just around my boys, and thoroughly enjoy putting on my make-up. You can't beat a cute outfit, especially with accessories and shoes to match.
5. I'm a people watcher. I could sit in a public place and watch people for hours. I think because I try to figure out why people do and say and wear things out and about when they know the world can see. People are so interesting.
6. Last but certainly not least, I love being a mom. I wouldn't trade it for any other job in the world. My boys are my most precious possession(and Wes too). One of my favorite parts is smelling their little heads after baths and having the clean aroma hit my senses. I love my boys laughter. They laugh better than any other kids I have ever heard. I love watching them as they sleep, they are truly angels. It has been the hardest, yet most rewarding thing I have ever done. I am glad I took the leap.
I don't have many blogs either so I tag, Chelsea, Sheriee, and Peg.

We've Been Robbed!!
We returned from our great weekend trip to Houston, (where we visited with friends and family) to a phone call this morning from Wes's secretary stating the office had been robbed. The door must have been left unlocked by the staff Friday evening as there were no signs of forced entry. Not only did they take $100 in cash, a hand less headset Wes just bought for Myra ($350), but they also ate Wes south beach diet meals in the fridge. What losers! However, it could have been much worse as none of the computers were taken and the office was not vandalized.

The Cast is in the Past!
It finally happened. We waited 6 very long weeks for today, and it finally happened. Logan's cast is history. We woke up early and headed to the children's hospital. The visit was surprisingly quick. We had the x-rays and before we knew it the Dr. gave the thumbs up. Next thing we knew the technician was sawing the nasty thing off. His skin was as scaly as a shedding snake, all dry and gross. The first thing we did when we got home was scrub-a-dub-dub. Then I scrubbed the tub because it was full of dead skin, yuck!
Logan does not walk yet. He is very hesitant to move now that the cast is off. He can get on and off the couch and can go up the stairs, that's about it. The doctor told us to expect two months until he is fully recovered and up and running. Despite his skinny torso and knobby knee he is in good spirits and we are glad to have the cast in our past.

Don't Bring Me Down--Bruce!!
Even with a broken leg Logan hasn't been held back. He spent the weekend fishing, in total caught 13 fish, he's a real angler!! He went to a fishing tournament on Saturday morning and even got a trophy!! He was so excited. We woke up Sunday morning to leave and Logan cried and cried. He said, "I don't want to leave, I don't want to leave!!" We had a great weekend.

Bubba Ben
Here are some new pictures of our big boy. He is growing up so fast. Lately, due to the cast Logan's appetite has significantly decreased. Ben eats just as much as Logan now, and sometimes more! Go figure. The other night Ben was whoppin' on Logan, it was so funny. We tried to capture it on video but everytime we turned on the camera Ben would stop and try to get the camera. Little toot.

Hangin' in There!!
We are making it okay. Don't know how it will be in a few days when Gramma Sheriee leaves. She has been a huge help. She has filled our fridge with frozen dinners not to mention cleaned our house, grocery shopped, and tended Ben. Her efforts here have been priceless. I think that the pain is subsiding. Logan's only complaint is the itching. I'll say "Log, where does it itch?" To which he replies "Everywhere!!" It gets so bad sometimes he just cries, poor little guy. However, he's hangin' in there.

Playing in the Pool!
Summer has finally hit north Texas. Temperatures have reached 100 degrees and we are trying to stay cool. Logan and Ben swam in the backyard today and enjoyed themselves thoroughly!!

Ben meets Oreos
The other day we were at Tom Thumb(grocery store), they were having a "grand re-opening." Basically they did some remodeling and were advertising the fact. So we went to check it out, it was nice and there were lots of free samples which means free dinner. They were giving away oreo cookies to all the children. Logan got one and Ben had a fit, because he saw Logan chomping his down. So in order to keep him from screaming everyone's ears off I gave him one too. Thus Ben meets oreo cookie.

The Fishing Trip
Logan went on his first fishing trip at Lake Cherokee. He and cousin Channing loaded up there backpacks with cold water, fruit snacks, and crackers. Then they grabbed their fishing poles, "nackle boxes," and life jackets and headed out. The anticipation and excitement just about killed them, but they made it into the boat and off for an adventure. Unfortunately they didn't have much luck in the fishing department, but they sure enjoyed there snacks!!

Candyland House and Cyclopes Man
Sounds like a nightmare right? Well I wish that it was. Wes and I decided(more like Wes took it upon himself) to paint our front door red. We thought that it might look nice, we have seen some other houses in our neighborhood with red doors that actually bring in a nice color element. However, now that the damage has been done we can see that we already had enough color with the bright yellow and green. Now it just looks like the candyland house. Not only have we had to deal with a scary looking house but we also have a scary eye to deal with. Ben continues to have eye problems. Thursday cannot get here soon enough, as that is his highly anticipated visit to the eye doctor. This morning he woke up and couldn't even open his poor little eye. We must pay tribute to his sweet character because depsite only being able to see out of one eye, it didn't seem to bother him at all!!

Summer Vacation
One of the funnest things that we were able to do this summer was to go to Hawaii and St. Thomas. We worked on our tans and relaxed together. This was something that we don't usually get to do together but it happened thanks to Mom Sheriee and Peggy who worked hard to watch the boys for us.
